Video: Ron Paul on Tyranny in America 24 Feb 2010

Congressman Paul speaks on the floor about assassinations of Americans by their own government.

Remembering The Alamo by Chuck Baldwin

Today, our national leaders are in the process of turning America over to the very forces that the Alamo defenders gave their lives resisting.

February 23 marks the anniversary of the beginning of the battle of the Alamo back in 1836. For more than 13 days, 186 brave and determined patriots withstood Santa Anna’s seasoned army of over 4,000 troops. To a man, the defenders of that mission fort knew they would never leave those ramparts alive. They had several opportunities to leave and live. Yet, they chose to fight and die. How foolish they must look to this generation of spoiled Americans.

It is difficult to recall that stouthearted men such as Davy Crockett (a nationally known frontiersman and former congressman), Will Travis (only 23 years old with a little baby at home), and Jim Bowie (a wealthy landowner with properties on both sides of the Rio Grande) really existed. These were real men with real dreams and real desires. Real blood flowed through their veins. They loved their families and enjoyed life as much as any of us do. There was something different about them, however. They possessed a commitment to liberty that transcended personal safety and comfort.

Liberty is an easy word to say, but it is a hard word to live up to. Freedom has little to do with financial gain or personal pleasure. Accompanying Freedom is her constant and unattractive companion, Responsibility. Neither is she an only child. Patriotism and Morality are her sisters. They are inseparable: destroy one and all will die.

Early in the siege, Travis wrote these words to the people of Texas: “Fellow Citizens & Compatriots: I am besieged by a thousand or more of the Mexicans under Santa Anna. . . . The enemy has demanded a surrender at discretion, otherwise the garrison are to be put to the sword . . . I have answered the demand with a cannon shot & our flag still waves proudly from the walls. I shall never surrender or retreat. . . . VICTORY OR DEATH! P.S. The Lord is on our side. . . .”

As you read those words, remember that Travis and the others did not have the A.C.L.U., P.E.T.A., People for the un-American Way, and the National Education Association telling them how intolerant and narrow-minded their notions of honor and patriotism were. A hostile media did not constantly castigate them as a bunch of wild-eyed extremists. As schoolchildren, they were not taught that their forefathers were nothing more than racist jerks.

Reward sought for booby trap attacks

The attack followed a New Year's Eve attempted threat when police believe suspected gang members rerouted the gas line to the same building, filing the office with natural gas, poised for an explosion by any spark from a light switch or computer.

Rerouted Gas Pipe into the Gang Task Force Building

The Riverside County Board of Supervisors will vote Tuesday on whether to approve a $100,000 reward for information leading to an attempted attack on the Hemet-San Jacinto Gang Task Force.

Supervisor Jeff Stone proposed today that the reward be added to the county agenda for a Tuesday vote by the board.

A gang detective was targeted Tuesday when he was opening a rolling gate at the Gang Task Force Office near Florida Avenue when an improvised firearm fired a bullet within a few feet of the officer, but missing him.

The attack followed a New Year’s Eve attempted threat when police believe suspected gang members rerouted the gas line to the same building, filing the office with natural gas, poised for an explosion by any spark from a light switch or computer.

The supervisor’s reward would lead to any information that leads to an arrest or conviction of anyone involved in the two incidents. It has to be approved by the entire board before it’s offered.

Police say girl raped in Silver Spring

Melquicide H. Sorto, 31, and Marcos R. Torres-Enriquez, 20, were each charged with one count of second-degree rape. They are being held without bond at the Montgomery County Detention Center.

An 11-year-old girl was raped in Silver Spring by two men who took her into an apartment after they saw her walking outside Tuesday night, Montgomery County police said.

Two men were arrested shortly after the attack.

The girl was walking near the intersection of Piney Branch Road and Carroll Avenue when she heard two men speaking to her in Spanish, according to police. She did not understand what they were saying because she does not speak Spanish, so she walked away from them, police said.

Shortly after, the girl was in a park near Quebec Terrace when the same two men walked up to her, took her into an apartment in the 8700 block of Carroll Avenue and both raped her, police said.

The girl told her mother what had happened and her mother called police about 8:40 p.m.

Officers found two suspects in the apartment and took them into custody.

America ‘Immigrating’ Into Cyclical Illiteracy And Poverty by Frosty Wooldridge

With over 50 different languages, we saw a 67 percent dropout rate in Denver Public Schools in 2004. It hit 48 percent in 2009. In Detroit, Michigan, with 600,000 immigrants, they suffered, according to NBC's Brian Williams, a 76 percent dropout rate last year. In high immigrant cities, the same percentages occur.

Denver Post editorial, “One small step on immigration” DP, 2/22/10

While the Denver Post editorialists hint around the edges of our immigration predicament, they never quite ‘touch’ the core problem or what’s driving it. In fact, Vince Carroll and his staff avoid it at all costs. With an estimated 500,000 illegals and their children residing in Colorado, the costs top $1.1 billion annually to Colorado taxpayers. (Source: www.cairco.org) Not only that, you will never see the Denver Post ‘going after’ the employers of illegal aliens at bars, restaurants, hotels, roofing companies, construction contractors, landscapers, fast food shops and meat packing plants.

You won’t see a story on the thousands of illegals driving cars without licenses or insurance. You won’t find a story on the ID theft, ID forgeries, ID scams and housing fraud by illegals and employers. Why? Big money! But again, Colorado taxpayers subsidize a few that haul in millions.

Yet, Carroll and company wind their way around the immigration/population issue much like California politicians and newspapers. At the same time, Colorado faces many of the same failures. California runs a $26 billion debt and over four million illegal aliens and their children make a mockery of their police, educational, medical and prison systems. Rampant fraud allows illegals to remain as California taxpayers pay and pay! Colorado finds itself over $284 million in debt, but no one will address the costs of illegal aliens.

During the Colorado gubernatorial race three years ago, ICE Agent Cory Voorhis exposed the deceptions in the immigration arena from former District Attorney and now Governor Bill Ritter as he allowed criminal drug dealing illegal aliens free passes like ‘agricultural trespass’ to return to our streets instead of being deported. A “Denver Sanctuary Policy” for illegal aliens by Mayor John Hickenlooper created situations whereby two women and a three year old child suffered death at the hands of illegal Francis Hernandez. Police caught and let him go 19 times via Hickenlooper’s policy. Hundreds of similar stories duplicate across the USA with sanctuary cities.

Serial rapist Boker Thomas sentenced to more than 430 years in prison - vics say it’s not enough

"You sir, are without any redeeming quality whatsoever. You say you are not a monster, but you are a predator intent on hurting young children. You are evil, you are a sociopath, you are a pathological violent criminal." Justice Vincent Del Giudice

Boker Thomas, 31, at State Supreme Court in Brooklyn for his sentencing on serial rapes in Brownsville.

A serial rapist was sentenced Tuesday to more than 430 years in prison - but a teenager he violated said it wasn’t nearly enough.

“I hate him and I wish him a slow and painful death,” said the girl, who was 13 when Boker Thomas raped her in 2008.

“I want him to know that God is not his best friend.”

She was among four victims in Brooklyn Supreme Court to watch Thomas, 31, be sentenced.

He was convicted of following seven women into elevators, stairwells and apartments in public housing projects and raping or robbing them.

Thomas was identified through fingerprints, DNA and witnesses and gave video and written confessions.

Yet in court, he claimed cops got the wrong man.

Tea parties here to stay!

'What is impressive is movement not only survived, but is thriving'

A new poll reveals the tea party movement is four times as popular as Congress, which has an approval rating at a near-record low of 12 percent. The survey also includes a not-so-subtle warning to incumbents that they may be gone this fall.

“Nearly a year after they sprang to life in local groups across America, the so-called tea-party movement is winning acceptance from a wide swath of the electorate nationwide. Well over half of likely voters nationwide – a 56 percent – hold a positive impression of the movement, compared to just 30 percent who hold a negative opinion of it,” said Fritz Wenzel of Wenzel Strategies.

“This spells the beginning of a movement that is likely to continue its growth and influence. The intensity of positive opinion for this movement is remarkably strong as nearly half, 44 percent, hold a “very positive” opinion of the movement,” he said.

“What is impressive is that the movement not only survived that early onslaught of attacks last summer – being called an ‘astro-turf’ movement manufactured by insurance companies to oppose health care reform – but is actually thriving today,” he said.

The WND/Wenzel telephone survey was conducted Feb. 18–20 using an automated telephone technology calling a random sampling of listed telephone numbers nationwide. The survey included 30 questions and carries a 95 percent confidence interval. It included 747 likely voters. It carries a margin of error of plus or minus 3.56 percentage points.

The poll shows voters are sending incumbents a warning right now.

The truth hurts rape liar

A person who would "lie and paint somebody as a rapist is worse than a real rapist or a real murderer," McCaffrey said. He also blamed "the arresting officers, the prosecution." Everyone, he said, "wanted to believe the lie, the ADA [assistant district attorney] first and foremost."

A young mother who falsely cried rape, sending an innocent man to prison for nearly four years, will experience firsthand what he suffered — she’ll spend one to three years behind bars for perjury.

“I wish her the best of luck,” said William McCaffrey last night of Biurny Peguero Gonzalez.

“Jail isn’t easy.”

McCaffrey, 33, of The Bronx, was locked up after Gonzalez accused him of raping her at knifepoint on a Bronx street back in 2005.

It was a lie she repeated to doctors, cops, prosecutors, a grand jury and the jury that convicted McCaffrey.

THE PRICE OF DECEIT: Biurny Peguero Gonzalez gets slapped into cuffs yesterday in Manhattan court for concocting a “rape” that ruined a man’s life — all to cover herself for ditching her girlfriends.

“What happened in this case is one of the worst things that can possibly happen in our criminal-justice system,” Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Charles Solomon said as he pronounced sentence.

McCaffrey said he has some sympathy for Gonzalez and hopes she “doesn’t go through what I went though.

“I was an accused rapist in prison,” he said, adding that in prison, “rape is the worst crime possible.”

All is clearly not forgiven.

STATE of EMERGENCY declared over TV Program @ UCSD

Chancellor Marye Anne Fox, who has condemned both the party and the TV show, stood at a lectern and repeatedly tried to appease the crowd. She read aloud each of the demands from the Black Student Union and stated “done” loudly after several.

Minority students at the University of California San Diego declared a racial state of emergency yesterday, presenting administrators with a list of 32 demands — many of which the school accepted on the spot.

Students, already upset by an off-campus party Monday that mocked Black History Month, reacted with tears, outrage and a march across campus after a second racially charged episode.

In the latest incident, members of an irreverent student organization aired a live segment on closed-circuit television Thursday night supporting the party.

Campus officials have been unable to locate a tape of the broadcast. According to the Black Student Union, hosts of the show called critics of the party ungrateful and used a derogatory term for African-Americans.

About 200 students, mostly black, met yesterday with administrators to discuss four pages of demands, mostly aimed at improving the campus’ racial climate.

Brewing tensions were made worse yesterday morning, when students searching for a copy of the videotape found a piece of cardboard in the student-run television studio with the words “Compton lynching” written on it — an apparent reference to the party, which was billed as the “Compton Cookout.”

The discovery was publicized in the middle of the emotional meeting between students and administrators. It prompted tears and repeated outcries from black students, who said they do not feel safe or welcome on campus. African-Americans make up less than 2 percent of undergraduates, a level that has been unchanged for a decade, despite recruitment efforts.

Hot off the blog!

"As the National Journal's Ron Brownstein has been reporting, white America is increasingly alienated and distrustful of all our major economic and political power centers - the banks, big corporations, the government. And, for the first time in our lifetimes outside the South, white racial consciousness has visibly begun to rise."
