Who stole our culture?

It is no accident that the entertainment industry is now cultural Marxism's most powerful weapon.

Editor’s note: This column is an excerpt from Dr. Ted Baehr and Pat Boone’s new book “The Culture-wise Family: Upholding Christian Values in a Mass Media World.” In the book, entertainment expert Dr. Ted Baehr and legendary musician Pat Boone urge people to make wise choices for themselves and their families so they can protect their children from toxic messages in the culture.

The following is Chapter 10, written by historian Williams S. Lind.

Sometime during the last half-century, someone stole our culture. Just 50 years ago, in the 1950s, America was a great place. It was safe. It was decent. Children got good educations in the public schools. Even blue-collar fathers brought home middle-class incomes, so moms could stay home with the kids. Television shows reflected sound, traditional values.

Where did it all go? How did that America become the sleazy, decadent place we live in today – so different that those who grew up prior to the ’60s feel like it’s a foreign country? Did it just “happen”?

It didn’t just “happen.” In fact, a deliberate agenda was followed to steal our culture and leave a new and very different one in its place. The story of how and why is one of the most important parts of our nation’s history – and it is a story almost no one knows. The people behind it wanted it that way.

What happened, in short, is that America’s traditional culture, which had grown up over generations from our Western, Judeo-Christian roots, was swept aside by an ideology. We know that ideology best as “political correctness” or “multi-culturalism.”

  • The media( incl these vile video games) is the teacher of the young and for the most part it teaches mindless violence, promiscuity, tolerance o harmful anti social behavior, and worse. Little if anyhting shows positive. It is often just gross spectacle like the Romans games Not always and not to everyone BUT enough over the past 30 years to our culture and substitute something out of a futuristic scary science fiction story we read 40 years ago.

Jefferson said it and I repeat it. Free speech demands responsibility .

We once had responsibility and community concern in the mass media that promoted positive values WHAT HAPPENED??? Too many of those in the media who make vast profits with what they purvey to our children and us have abdicated responsibility in the quest for more spectacle and more and more money or perhaps for more nefarious reasons, or both.

  • Michael Savage talks about th is in his book: BORDERS LANGUAGE AND CULTURE. I guessed correctly, because I had read his book and totally agree with the the author. What has happened to America is sad,and I don’t see how this downward spiral in America can be stopped. Too many people aren’t aware or complacent to current events leading to the decay of our once Great Country, because of PC and Multi-culturalism.

"As the National Journal's Ron Brownstein has been reporting, white America is increasingly alienated and distrustful of all our major economic and political power centers - the banks, big corporations, the government. And, for the first time in our lifetimes outside the South, white racial consciousness has visibly begun to rise."
